David’s Restaurant offers fine dining on Amelia Island in Fernandina Beach, Florida. Co-owner Deborah Gold picked up a mini menu from a restaurant in Charlottesville, VA. The compact four-panel piece was only 2.5″ wide by 4″ high when folded, but it managed to get a lot of information into one small package!

David's Restaurant Rack Card and Business Card

The logo, rack card and business card designed by InsideOut provided the look for the mini menus.

Inspired by this compact print piece, Deborah contacted InsideOut requesting a similar mini menu for David’s Restaurant. We designed a mini menu that was both attractive and portable. It follows the look and feel established by the David’s Restaurant logo, rack cards and business cards also designed by InsideOut’s print graphic designers. Having a branded look as well as Deborah’s clear decisive revisions kept the overall design time of the mini-menus to a minimum.

This mini brochure includes a locator map, QR code and contact information.  It concisely highlights not only the gourmet menu, but the variety of spaces (dining room, wine room, lounge and banquet) available to guests of David’s Restaurant. Even though there isn’t a lot of real estate on this print piece–it’s only 4″ x 10″ when open–everything fits including the all important professional photos by Christian Giannelli which say so much more than paragraphs of text.

Mini menus and small brochures are becoming popular alternatives to larger brochures which are more expensive to produce and traditional business cards which are portable and inexpensive, but short on information. The cute size also makes this piece more likely to be kept. It’s definitely the way to go for a print piece if you want something that’s literally a little different!
