Point Clear Cottages Bed and Breakfast

InsideOut Solutions is pleased to announce the successful launch of another new custom website designed specifically for the bed and breakfast industry! We are not the only ones pleased with this beautiful new website, Robert Berglin, owner of Point Clear Cottages Bed & Breakfast said “I think the web site is absolutely wonderful. I am 100% satisfied.”

Point Clear Cottages is located on Mobile Bay in Fairhope, Alabama. it is owned and operated by Robert Berglin who is a life-long resident of the area. You can Stay in either the Bay Shore Cottage, or Pelicans Rest guest quarters, both feature private entrances, kitchen areas, queen beds and full baths. Guests also enjoy the comforts of the private dock which features a hot tub, hammock, grill, and the perfect spot to read a book or sip a sweet tea.

Websites Built in WordPress

Yes this is a WordPress site, but that does not mean it is just another template. When you consult InsideOut to develop a new custom site, it is just that. We use our talented InsideOut design team to work one on one with you to make sure you are completely happy with the design before we begin to build it into Inndx, which is a blog and website service specifically created for bed and breakfast Inns and powered by WordPress.

Your brand new website is built from the ground up, and once launched you are provided with a username and password so you can log into your website and have access to the most powerful client management system (cms) on the web today!

Our Custom Platform is Built for the Hospitality Industry

Here are a few things you will be able to do with your new Inndx website:

Manage your own photo galleries, you will have complete control over this exciting feature such as naming Albums that contain galleries, and labeling each image. All images pop up when clicked to view larger so you can insure that your potential guests will have the best idea of what your Bed and Breakfast Inn looks like.

Built-in blog. You will log in to your website and see what is called a dashboard. Inside of this dashboard you will find access to all of your pages and blog posts. This is also the same area where you will create new blog posts and manage all of your blog post photos.

InsideOut has developed some really handy plugins to further enhance editing capabilities for Innkeepers. As part of a new website design, you get the Specials and Packages plugin and or the Recipes plugin. This lets you create specials and or recipies similar to how you create blog posts, and they will appear magically on your specials and packages page!

With a new website you can also edit text, add or delete pages, add images and have access to several editing features in the toolbar

One of the greatest advantages to having the ability to update your site in Inndx is cost. Updates can get expensive, and if it is just a small change you need, you just need to log in and change it. If you still prefer InsideOut web technicians to do updates for you, it will take way less time and cost you less.

If your interested in a brand new site to significantly help your online marketing efforts and get more bookings, please Contact Us today!

To date, 2011 has been a whirlwind of activity both in Sequim and on the road. Conferences and trade shows have kept us on the move. Building websites, and designing and printing travel planners have kept us busy at home. Whew. We wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Jack Waknitz and Lisa Lidback in Charleston, SC, for the PAII conference.

In early January, Pat McCauley, Jack Waknitz, and Lisa Lidback traveled to Charleston, South Carolina, for the PAII conference. As a PAII Silver Sponsor, InsideOut hosted the kick-off cocktail party at the conference, which was great fun for all who attended. Lisa, Jack, and Pat met some first time PAII attendees and saw many old friends. The PAII conference is always a good trip – we connect with our clients and meet new Innkeepers.

Barely home a week, Jack and Pat packed their bags once more and headed to the Dude Ranch Conference in Tucson, AZ, to share the new Dude Ranchers’ Association website with members of the association. They stayed with Rosemary and Dave Brown of Hacienda Del Deiserto, wonderful hosts and a charming casita. A highlight of the trip was certainly the wild javelinas that come each day to the back door of the inn, drawn by the great scents that waft from the kitchen. It was a great trip all around, not least because of the warm sunshine. Check out the video:

Laura Alisane and Pat McCauley then traveled to San Diego for the California Bed and Breakfast conference. Pat spoke about Critical Elements of Web Design. Laura hosted a FaceBook roundtable and a session about blog topics for innkeepers. It was good to connect with our neighbors to the south.

The InsideOut team back in Sequim has been busy as well. January saw the launch of several websites: duderanch.org; lonesomehollow.com (a redesign); and chestnutcottagerestaurant.com. February was dedicated to building more websites, and catching up on proposals and paperwork generated by the conferences.

We’ll be on the road again in April, and hope to see you then.

A lot has been happening this spring at InsideOut. Jeff and Beth Logan, Steven Dunston, Katie Pate and Pat McCauley attended the PAII conference in Atlanta at the end of March; Jeff and Steven attended the Montana conference on the heels of PAII; and Jeff and Katie just returned from the MBBA conference in Duluth. Shawn, Kailey, Jack and Lisa held down the web department while Jeff, Katie and Steven were traveling.

Meanwhile, renovations are underway at our offices in Sequim. Two new offices are being built for owner Jeff Logan and Web Developer Jack Waknitz. The paint is drying, and Jack and Jeff should be able to move in soon. Their vacated desks will allow InsideOut to bring in two new employees in the coming months, thus enabling us to keep a good ratio of staff to clients.

One new person has already joined the InsideOut team; Gail Cole has been hired on to the SEO team to blog for clients, and to write and edit copy wherever and whenever needed. A former high school French teacher, Gail is excited to be developing her skills in a new environment.

Check out three new case studies on the InsideOut Web site! Okay, we’re not talking Freud here people – but these case studies might give you an idea or two about making your dreams a design reality!

We like to post case studies so that folks get an in-depth take on how we go about the various aspects of new Web site creation. There are many steps involved in the process, and, to quote a great mind here in the office “our work on a website is never truly finished”.

We when design a client’s new Web site there are some key aspects to our design process: A cohesive look must be created throughout the web site and print materials. This is called “branding”.

We like to create a website that will give visitors a feel for the inn before they ever leave their computers. Whether it is a sophisticated Victorian home, a mountainous country ranch or a tropical island paradise, our designs will transport you there.

Another aspect of our design process that is oh so important is our built-in search engine optimization. When we design a website, we make sure that body text, titles and meta tags already contain a structure that will allow for great search engine placement and make it easy for further improvement by our promotion team. We are careful to maintain links to the old site in the newly designed site so that page rank and ever so important link building is not lost.

WARNING: Our designs are known to infiltrate the subconscious, you may be dreaming of your new web site after visiting one of our case studies!

A little tardy, I admit, but I thought I’d let you know that we expanded our office in May. In anticipation of the new employees and new business we were taking on, we needed more desk space. At first, we were thinking we’d just make the newbies work in the garage…but it was kind of drafty in there!

We remodeled the garage where I am currently sitting and made it into the new office. Along with expanding our server room, we installed new wiring throughout and upgraded our phone and alarm system. We had a small army of electricians in here to make sure everything was perfect!

How could we forget to mention the fix-it queen, Miss Kailey Lampert? Kailey is also a new face here at InsideOut, although she was here ahead of Lisa and myself. In fact, she’s such a natural, I figured she was an old hand in our business!

One of our fabulous Web Technicians here at InsideOut Solutions! Kailey joined InsideOut nearly three months ago.

Kailey was born in California’s Bay Area and she lived there until 1999 when she moved up to Port Angeles, Washington with her family. Although the youngest of three by nearly 5 years, she feels more like a big sister than an aunt to her 5 year old (as of this post) nephew.

Kailey can’t remember a time when her home was without a computer (and today it has six) so she quickly became fascinated with all they can do, and after a brief lesson on HTML in seventh grade, she came to have a deep interest in web-development. However, at the time, she didn’t really get it, so after graduating from Port Angeles High School, she took two years of geek classes at the local community college and figured out everything she was doing wrong. Since then, she has taught herself even more and continues to expand on her understanding of web-building languages.

When she’s not glued to her desk, she does enjoy traveling to wherever so that she can grow her playing card collection, which is currently somewhere around 230 complete decks.
