Google+

The Google+ network isn't ready for business profiles just yet.

What is Google+?

Google+ is a social network designed to compete with existing networks such as Facebook and Twitter.

Will Google+ Replace Facebook & Twitter?

No one can say for sure what the long term effects of this new network will have, but InsideOut is recommending taking a “wait & see” perspective in the short term.  Keep in mind:

1) Google+ is in a limited Field Trial.  Membership is limited and currently no new members are being allowed.  You can sign up to be notified when new memberships are available.  Simply go to

https://plus.google.com/

Sign in using your Google account (or create one if you don’t have one) and then sign up to be notified.

A workaround for this (if you have a Google account) is to have a friend who is already a Google+ member add you to one of their Circles and/or invite you to join.

2) Google+ is the company’s third attempt at entering the social media sphere.  Google Wave and Google Buzz, their previous attempts, failed to generate enough interest to be successful.

How Can I Use Google+ for My Business?

Currently, Google+ is a personal social network.  Google has directly requested that businesses wait to create a profile because they intend to launch the beta version of the business-oriented component of Google+ in late fall or winter. Google is currently deleting any account which appears to be a business listing (even Sesame Street got booted!).
