Additionally, video platforms such as YouTube and Vimeo compete neck and neck with these platforms, trailing by a mere four percent of accessed travel video content. This should be no surprise; as social media has exploded into the worldwide online network in the last ten years.
In this same travel study, Amir Eylon, President and CEO of Longwoods International, states, “Video storytelling has always been an effective way to promote a destination…And the importance of social media as a source of travel video content continues to grow.”
