Phishing Emails Are Back in Force! Here’s How to Spot and Stop Them

Lately, we’ve seen a flood of phishing emails hitting not only our inboxes at InsideOut Solutions (over 100 in just a few days), but also those of our clients. These emails are designed to trick you into clicking a link and “fixing” a problem that doesn’t exist.

Here’s the important truth: you will never receive an automated message telling you that your email hosted by InsideOut Solutions is locked and that you must log in to fix it.

If there is ever an issue with your email, you will be contacted by a real person from our team! Someone who knows your business and understands your setup. That’s one of the big reasons to trust InsideOut Solutions: we provide the personal touch, not generic auto-generated warnings.

A Real Example of a Phishing Email

Below is a screenshot of one of the phishing attempts we received.

PHISHING EMAIL

At first glance, it looks professional and urgent. But once you know what to look for, the problems stand out.

How to Spot the Red Flags

  1. Suspicious Sender
The email claims to be from “Inside Out Community,” but the actual sending address has nothing to do with insideout.com. If the address looks odd, that’s your first warning.
  2. Scare Tactics
The email threatens suspension of your account unless you act immediately. Fear and urgency are the oldest tricks in the book.
  3. Fake Links
The buttons (Allow Messages / Review Messages) point to an unrelated website. If you’re an InsideOut Solutions client you should expect to go to webmail.insideout.com. Always hover over a link before clicking to see where it really goes. Never click the link in an email unless you absolutely trust the sender.
  4. Generic Branding
The formatting is sloppy, the wording awkward, and it ends with “insideout.com Support 2025.” That’s not how our messages look.

What To Do If You Receive One

  • Do not click anything.
  • Do not reply.
  • Delete the message.
  • When in doubt, go straight to the source. Log into your email directly at https://webmail.insideout.com/. Never click through a link in the email.
Email Phishing

Why This Matters

Phishing attacks aren’t just annoying — they’re designed to steal your passwords, lock you out of your own email, or worse. Staying alert protects not only your inbox, but also your personal data, business reputation, and in some cases your finances.
